sex, money, and miscellany: talking about what matters

what to do with the anger

A month or so ago I wrote a column for TransEnough talking about how we have to educate because we are always educators, and how being angry and so forth doesn’t help. I stand by that. It’s true. But it’s exhausting, and sometimes the anger is there, and justified. Here’s a piece on racism and anger and choice, that I found linked from Mary Anne Mohanraj’s blog. Mary Anne is a writer, professor, mother, and although I don’t know if she thinks of herself this way, I experience her as an activist. I would love to see her on a panel about race and culture with Melissa Harris Lacewell.

They are smart and articulate and opinionated; the reading can be dense, but it’s important if we ever want to change.
